DIP Funding: Supporting innovation through design

The Design-driven Innovation Program (DIP) provides financial support to companies so they can involve designers early in the ideation phase of innovation projects. By bringing in designers at the start, there's a greater likelihood of developing products or services that meet the actual needs of users – and ultimately succeed. DIP recipients were announced on October 21, 2024, and the next opportunity to apply for funding will be in spring 2025.

Kongsberg discovery’s groundbreaking solution for drone coordination

Drones are becoming an increasingly vital part of maritime activities, both on and beneath the surface. However, surface and underwater vehicles are currently operated independently, creating challenges in coordinating complex operations such as seabed mapping and underwater installation inspections.

EGGS brings a cross-disciplinary approach to maritime innovation

Kongsberg Discovery, with our help at EGGS, is tackling this issue head-on. They are developing a mission control center that allows a single operator to control both surface and underwater drones simultaneously. With our user-centered approach, a cross-disciplinary team will first work to understand the challenges and opportunities, followed by an exploration of innovative solutions.

Innovative solutions for sustainable and cost-effective drone operations

The goal is to create a groundbreaking solution that integrates two different technologies. The potential outcomes are more complex and cost-effective drone operations at sea, more sustainable technology use, and new business opportunities for Kongsberg Discovery.

Kongsberg Discovery has received 700,000 NOK in DIP funding from DOGA for this exciting project.
