With the objective to gain overview of offshore platforms’ complex safety status, Oilfield Technology Group (OTG) decided to apply design-driven innovation. Together, we created an intuitive dashboard-based design that incorporates extensive use of visualization.

Goodbye Excel

Offshore safety is a conservative business with old-fashioned ways of documenting. Status reports are often made in Excel, and hidden away in a folder somewhere. To improve safety, we needed to bring safety levels to a more visual, understandable and accessible format.

The new, intuitive dashboard allows users to efficiently gain access to information. It gives live updated risk and barrier status updates on a rig, is a toolkit for effective technical safety projects and is equipped with an information portal for technical risk and safety instructions.

OTG can now offer a streamlined and cost-efficient Integrated Decision Support and software collaboration tool for their clients; helping them reduce risks and improve their overall operational performance. OTG is widely recognized as a major competence provider within oil and gas enterprises.
